Possums
There are two types of possums commonly found within urburn areas: Brushtail and Ringtail possums. If you are hearing noises in your roof in the evening or early in the morning, you could have either rats or possums.
Rats make scratching and scampering noises, whereas possums make a louder noise, similar to a cat jumping around in the roof. Possums will usually sleep during the day and wake up early in the evening and leave your roof void for the night. They will then return early in the morning to bed down for the day.
North Shore Pest Control can usually ascertain their entry point and provide temporary proofing to small holes. Larger entry points may require work to be undertaken by handyman services or even builders/roofers.
Blocking the entry point is required before a cage can be set in the roof to catch the possum. Sometimes, a family of possums may be living in your roof. Only licensed pest controllers with NP&WS permits are allowed to trap possums. North Shore Pest Control has the necessary permit to catch and release possums.
