There are 2 common types of inspections:
Termite Inspections
Usually conducted on a regular basis (usually 6-12 monthly).
Timber Pest Inspections
Usually conducted when selling or buying a home.
Both inspection procedures include a full written report on the findings. These reports provide the owner/purchaser with helpful information about critical issues such as live termites, termite damage, wood decay, sub-floor ventilation, plumbing leaks, dampness/drainage problems, borers, hot water system overflows, faulty guttering and downpipes, high soil or paving levels etc.
In accordance with Australian Standards, termite inspections should be undertaken at least annually, sometimes 3 or 6 monthly, depending on the individual property.

North Shore Pest Control has been certified as a Preferred Authorised Operator by the manufacturer of the Exterra Termite Interception and Baiting System.
This verifies that North Shore Pest Control’s operating processes, treatments, and record keeping is in line with approved guidelines.
This ensures every customer receives the best possible service at all times.
The Exterra Termite Interception and Baiting System is a systematic, multi-step termite management method.
Australian field trials have clearly demonstrated the effectiveness of the system in controlling subterranean termites in Australia.
The Exterra System represents a true shift in termite management. If you are concerned about toxic chemicals being poured under and around your home, then Exterra is the solution. Active termites are eradicated using a bait formulation that is less toxic than table salt. The bait is placed in tamper-proof bait stations and attached to the timbers where termites are active, providing direct access for termites to start feeding.
Soon after the termites have started consuming the bait, their mouthparts are softened, physically preventing them from doing any further damage to the timbers in your home. Regular visits are undertaken and the bait is replenished as needed until the termite colony has been eliminated. On completion, the bait stations are removed.
Ongoing monitoring of the In-Ground and In-Concrete stations around your dwelling continue to be undertaken at regular intervals, ensuring peace of mind.
If a new termite colony is in the area and heading towards your home, the monitoring stations are designed to intercept the termites before they do any damage to your home. Bait is added to the stations and the process of termite eradication is repeated.
The Exterra System Process:
House under attack from termites
The first step in the Exterra Management program is a thorough inspection of your home by an Exterra Authorised and licensed termite manager. Your Exterra Termite Manager will determine the nature of the threat to your property and recommend cultural changes you should make as well as determining optimal placement of the Exterra Termite Monitoring Stations.
Exterra Stations placed around your property
These Stations are checked regularly. If termites are in your home, Above-ground Stations are installed. Above-ground Stations allow your termite problem to be dealt with immediately, right at the point of termite attack.
The patented Focus Termite Attractant is added to your Stations at this time. This creates the unique Termite Interception Zone around your home and ensures the termites are attracted into the Exterra Stations and do not pass between them and enter your home. This is unique to Exterra. This can mean a significant decrease in the time to colony elimination.
Termites are intercepted by Exterra Stations
Termites are easily detected in the Exterra Stations. The unique (patented) design of the Exterra Station allows for termites to be seen without disturbing them. This is very important. And the termites are not disturbed during bait application either.
Exterra Station baited with Requiem Termite Bait
Requiem Termite Bait is added without disturbing the termites. This is vital to achieve quick and consistent results. Requiem Termite Bait is highly palatable to termites and they readily consume it in preference to timber. In fact Australian studies show that once termites start feeding on Requiem, they stop feeding on timbers in your home! Requiem Termite Bait is also very low toxicity to you, your pets and the environment.
The Termite Colony is eliminated by the Requiem Termite Bait
The termites feed on the Requiem Termite Bait and take it back to the colony where it is fed slowly throughout the entire termite colony. Since the termites die gradually, they do not associate the colony's demise with the Requiem Termite Bait. This ensures that the entire colony is eliminated.
